Well Saturday and Sunday it was 90 degrees and we actually have turned on the AC in the house. I guess the time has come to pull out the summer clothes. Thankfully I already had Brooke's out since I have been working on her room this week. It was a hard week for the family but we are pushing thru and celebrating and enjoying what God has given us. The weather has been nice today and it's suppost to stay this way thru the middle of the week which is nice. Hope you enjoy the pictures of Brooke loving the weather in her outfits.

Day of Play

After I got my exercising in at the track Brooke in tow she and I enjoyed a day of playing together. Even though I have been getting headaches this week playing with Brooke and hearing her joy and seeing the smile on her face makes me feel better. We haven't found any playmates for her in the area yet so for now her playmates have to me Mom and Dad but that's okay with us. Hope you all had a great day.

National Zoo

Monday since it was one of Jason's day off we decided to take Brooke to her first zoo. It was a little cold but we bundled up and had fun. You can't beat a zoo that's free to get into. We are discovering that Brooke loves monkeys and bears. They have a baby gorilla that was born Jan 12th and is very cute. We look forward to going back. It's a lot of walking but that makes for good exercise as well. She also enjoyed the petting zoo even though there are only two animals to pet. Goats and donkeys but as long as she likes it.

Easter Party

This paat Friday we attended an Easter party for the housing complex where we live. The Easter bunny came, we had a food and an Easter egg hunt where you got prizes for your tickets. Brooke had a great time and even had her first hot dog.

Easter... He is Risen

Well we were blessed today and Jason was given the day off and we were able to attend church as a family. It was a little cold but we all enjoyed dressing up. In the afternoon my Dad and Viktoria came up from Norfolk and enjoyed a nice dinner of ham and the fixings. We had a great day. How blessed are we that Jesus died for our sins. He is risen, he is risen.. go on and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. Hope you all had a Blessed and Happy Easter.

Up the stairs I go...

Well one of Brooke's favorite things is to have Daddy chase he up the stairs. Well always have gates up but sometimes take them off and watch her go to them. When she gets to them she says "Daddy" looks for him and waits for him to get up and starts to go full speed up the stairs while laughing and giggling the whole time. I am of course always with her while she does this but doesn't care she just wants Daddy. The other day while Daddy was behind her I decided to take pictures to share. Hope you enjoy.

The Cup Battle

Well this has been a tough week for me. Since Brooke will be 13 months tomorrow I thought it was time for no more bottle as the doctor had suggested. I didn't do it right when she turned 1 because we had just moved and I didn't want to throw to much at her at one time. But this week I decided to go at this. I thought that it would be a piece of cake because she has taken to everything else do quickly and had no problem giving up her pacifier cold turkey. Boy was I wrong. We have tried at leave 5-6 different types of cups and nothing seems to be working. Several people have told me give her the cup and nothing else and eventually she will give in and drink from it. Well they were wrong. She doesn't drink from it, hands it back to me and starts crying and while she is crying the whole time saying baba which makes me feel like a horrible mother and I am depriving her. Last night though she did drink from it so when she does I have been rewarding her with fruit treats. But this morning she work up and wouldn't take it. It took her over 3 hours to drink it which is very unlike her. I am still trying ever hard but will be happy when she just takes it and we are done with all of this. If anyone has any advice feel free to email me.

Let's Go Red Sox

Well since it was opening day for baseball Brooke had to wear her Red Sox hat and show her support. We are hoping they have a great season and go all the way.

Sunday, Sunday

Well we had a nice Sunday. They gave Jason off to he was able to go to church with us and then spend the day together as a family. The day ended with Daddy reading Brooke a story before bed.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

Saturday after Jason got off work we decided that since the Cherry Blossoms were in their peak we would go check out the Tidal Basin. It was a nice day, a little cold but the nicest day of the weekend. Their were a lot of people but we made are way thru the crowd and had a nice time and got lots of pictures. The walk takes you around the Tidal Basin, by the Jefferson Memorial and thru the FDR Memorial. It was the first time Jason has been down into the city. We had a great time and can see why so many people come into town to see it. There are 2,000 Cherry Blossom trees there. It's amazing that just three days after going the blossoms are gone till next year. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
